This has a texture of water. Super lightweight, has no discernible scent, doesn’t leave a tacky finish. It’s free of alcohol, fragrance, and essential oils.
I’m a tretinoin user and have pretty good skin in my opinion but still noticed obvious brightening and smoothing results within two weeks of using this. Granted that I used this along with azelaic acid (from Paula’s Choice too), I was all the same impressed. It’s also effective in balancing oil and keeping my pores clean.
My skin tolerates this well, I can use this twice a day without irritation. I’m able to use this after L-Ascorbic Acid in the morning and before tretinoin in the evening.
It works with other skincare products, there’s no pilling since it’s very watery and light.
It”s pricey so I tried another highly rated and more affordable niacinamide product but it did nothing. I went back to Paula’s Choice despite the high price tag. This is my HG and I won’t wander away anymore.
Aside from 10% niacinamide, which is brightening, this contains a few more ingredients that can help with dark spots: Ascorbyl Glucoside (a stable C derivative), Licorice, and Acetyl Glucosamine. This also has a peptide, some antioxidants, and several soothing and moisturizing ingredients.
It’s housed in an opaque glass bottle that protects the contents from light. The dropper makes application easy; three drops are all I need - one drop on the forehead and a drop each on the cheeks.
10% niacinamide may be too potent for very sensitive skin.
