Pure Vitamin C21.5% Advanced Serum
What i was curious from this serum about, is the percentage of this serum. It has 21,5% ascorbis acid guys, which is high concentrated and so potent for an ascorbic acid. I started using this on the beginning of quarantine time (around April). It was a nightmare for me bcs my skin was suddenly freaked out, pimples showed on every side of my face. Until today i‘ve still been struggling with healing and treating my acne that come suddenly and of course some of them leave a dark spot. That‘s why i chose to buy this serum, putting a big hope for my acne and its scars. But in fact i have a bit love-hate-relationship with this serum😅. So here are my experiences for about 4 months application:
💛 After the 1st week of using this serum, i‘m quite impressed with the result. Alhamdulillah biidznillah this serum made my angry acne and irritated skin more calmed in the next day! I think it‘s bcs of the tea tree water in this serum (it‘s just a water, not an extract).
💛 My dark hyperpigmentation were fading away faster than i expected, top!😍
💛 The watery texture makes this serum soaks into the skin in no time. No stickiness and it doesn’t make my skin more greasy👌🏻
💛somehow my pores looks smaller after every application of this serum🤔
💛 I didn‘t experience any kind of warm sensation or tingling feeling, and i didn’t smell any particular scent eihter.
💔 This serum is extremely easy to oxidize IF i didn’t put this serum in the fridge. Before this serum i used another vit c serum which i didn’t put it in the fridge but it started oxidize after 6 months i opened the serum. But this serum just took 1 month to oxidize😢. Is it bcs of the high percentation of ascorbic acid? Idk🤔
💔 Around the hole of the bottle from the serum there’s no kind of plastic holder like other serum in general, which can make the product spilled if i tilted the bottle (it spilled a bit while i was taking this photo) and could make the intensity of the air exchange is higher. Perhaps this is another reason as well for the quick oxidation time IMO.
💔 I‘m not a person who like to save my skincare products in the fridge so it‘s quite uncomfortable for me bcs i need to make an extra effort just to put this serum on my face in front of the fridge directly 😅
💔 It‘s quite tingling if i had an popped acne or my skin felt irritated
💔 This serum leaves a white residues around the bottle cap, so it looks a bit messy for me.
I wouldn’t suggest you to use this serum if you have a damaged skin barrier or never try another vit c serum before this one due to the high percentation of ascorbic acid in this serum. And IMO taking care of a vit c serum needs more efforts, so if you have vit c serum and you want it to last longer, i recommend you to put this serum in the fridge. And if you put more than 1 serum on your face, it‘s better if you put this first after toning or cleansing and then continue to the next serum. Otherwise your skin would feel sticky and might feel tighter somehow (on my skin).
P.s. I have two bottles of this serum and this photo is my already my 2nd bottle. The 1st bottle was totally oxidized (very orange so i was afraid to continue it) and finally opened the 2nd one but this already oxidized tho🙃. But eventho this one is already starting to be yellowish, i‘ve been still using this and still fine, alhamdulillah.
