The Isntree Clear Skin 8% AHA Essence contains Glycolic acid (4%) and lactic acid (4%) which is intended to sweep away dead skin cells, revealing a smoother and brighter complexion.
I have been using this product for over a month now, and I bought it just before the packaging was updated. The essence is a very watery one- more like a light toner consistency. It has streaks of iridescence but once applied, the irridescence disappears.
The essence is dispensed with a pump and the toner squirts out an appropriate amount. However, I found that the pump feels quite cheap and can pump any amount of product out no matter how hard or otherwise you push.
My Experience
I love this product. It is very gentle and didn’t seem to cause any irritation for my skin. Granted my skin is resilient, it wasn’t overly harsh like some products I have used in the past. It gently exfoliates my skin and I find that using it three times a week was best. I did experience some mild purging with the product but that was quickly resolved. I love that it is very gentle and works well with other products in my routine.
I would confidently recommend to any skin type. Sensitive skin types and AHA newbies may want to steer clear because of the high percentages of AHAs in this product. I would also recommend always following up with sunscreen during the day.
The 4/5 star rating is definitely because of the pump which could have been better in my opinion. It is however, definitely worth getting.
