Galactomyces (also known as Pitera) are a type of yeast. Legend says that the effects of galactomyces were first discovered by sake brewers, whose hands stayed continued to appear young as their bodies aged. These are a major component of cult classic SK-II.
In skincare products, galactomyces have the ability to increase product absorption and also has known antioxidant effects. I’ve read that studies show that galactomyces cause epidermal cells to produce hyaluronic acid, but have not personally read these studies.

Galactomyces Water Essence have one ingredient: galactomyce-infused water. The product can be applied directly to the skin or mixed with other products, including The Potions Gel Cream Mixer.
I apply this product directly to the skin. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t tighten the skin, as water usually does to me. I’m hopeful that my cells produce hyaluronic acid, but don’t have the equipment to measure this.
All in all, I think this is worth trying. It adds only a minute to my skincare routine and the benefits of increased product absorption and hyaluronic acid production are both fantastic reasons for me to use this item!
