with the red splotches it kind of sounds like you may be allergic to something in the ingredients. I usually break out from a lot of drug store moisturizers and this is one of a few I don't get break outs. Don't give up though, maybe write down ingredients on any that cause red splotchy and maybe you'll pin point an ingredient that your skin doesn't like. Then you can find products that might work better
