I received this product for free from Picky and Coxir in exchange for my honest review.
This is the first ever product with snail mucin that I have tried. I wanted to try snail mucin since I was a little kid. I used to collect garden snails and keep them in jars inside our house, near the bed. That was, until one night after letting the lid slightly open for the snails to breathe, the snails escaped and went on my mum's face. 😂 Nature's spa! She said she woke up with her face slugged by the snails but it was oh so soft like she never felt before.
My first impression with this brand was like most folks, that they are a dupe to COSRX because of the similarities: brand name, ingredients used and product packaging. I soon figured out that COXIR likes using fragrance in their products instead.
I have combination, dehydration prone and very sensitive skin which is rosacea and Malassezia (fungal acne) prone. Therefore I approached this product with caution. This cream has a very gloopy consistence. A little goes a long way, it is absorbed readily by the skin and it spreads out nicely. I must say that this cream smells AMAZING. At least for me. It reminds me of honeysuckle and soap. It triggers a lot of nostalgia for me. I haven't used fragranced creams for years and I really miss them so I sometimes indulge my senses with this spa like cream. I enjoy using it on my face, as well as neck and decolette. Upon application, I feel a burst of hydration. The cream itself is not very moisturizing and dries off so I find it's better applied alongside other hydrators just like Koreans preffer to apply their skincare. Since it is lightweight, I preffer using it during the day, layered with an SPF, as I find that using it during the night is not enough for my combo dehydrated skin. I wake up with dry and sore skin as the product is entirely absorbed by my pillowcase (yes judge me, I'm a face sleeper!). This cream contains many plant extracts which provide antioxidant benefirs and adenosine which aids with skin lightening, albeit I will see these effects in time.
I do not recommend this product to people with a broken skin barrier, sensitized skin or even very sensitive skin as it contains fragrance and essential oils which can further sensitize the skin.
Not Malassezia (fungal acne) safe as it contains a few unsafe ingredients. If you have a Malassezia outbreak I suggest being careful using this cream. I have mine under control on my face but my chest area broke out.
The inner lid is hard to grab and for a person like me with short nails this is an inconvenience as I waste a lot of time fiddling with it. Tip: use a pair of tweezers to grab and lift the lid.
