You shake the essence till you see a creamy lilac color and apply. This is a must have for winter it hydrates very well without leaving the skin heavy and tacky. I did not feel that it clogged my pores despite the viscosity of this essence. For my oily acne-prone combination skin this was a little on the heavier side but it did moisturize well where I did not need an extra moisturizer on top. This product is a great addition to anyone with dry skin or wanting a thicker essence in the winter. It is also great for barrier repair as it contains antioxidants and hydrating ingredients. Over all a great essence for those in need of a thicker essence to nourish their skin.
