Cleansing Balm

product review positives
I received this product as a giveaway gift! My best friend won the giveaway and she selected me to also win β€œThe Routine” from Oak Essentials. ⁣ 𝗔𝗕𝗒𝗨𝗧 π—§π—›π—˜ 𝗣π—₯𝗒𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗧 A soft cleansing balm that helps dissolve makeup, grime, and other impurities while keeping moisture intact. ⁣ Key ingredients include Organic Safflower Seed Oil (to help diminish the appearance of dry skin), Organic Sesame Oil (to keep skin moisturized and healthy), and Avocado Oil (to protect skin against free radical damage and environmental stress)⁣ ⁣ 𝗠𝗬 π—˜π—«π—£π—˜π—₯π—œπ—˜π—‘π—–π—˜ I don’t wear a lot of makeup nowadays (I work from home 99.9% of the time with 1 or 2 days going to the office every other month), but I do wear SPF and other skincare from my morning routine. Even when sitting in front of the computer, my face still gets sweaty, oily, and grimey at the end of the day; so this balm was mainly used for my double-cleansing routine in the evening.⁣ ⁣ It is a super-soft balm that smells absolutely amazing without being too fragrant or nauseating; it basically disappears once you wash off so that is a plus. ⁣ It did its job without irritating my skin. After using it, my skin never felt dry, and it was also not a pain to wash off/remove compared to other balms I used. I know it’s not like your standard face wash or makeup remover, but I find that some balms and oils can leave this weird residue even after washing it off and wiping with a face cloth; so it did not disappoint there.
product review negatives
Although it was gifted, I don’t think I would purchase this on my own. The price point is a little high for cleansing balm - $48 USD for 1.4 oz. Perhaps if it was slightly larger I might give it a second chance? Like make it a 4-5 oz jar and I am set for the entire year LOL Especially since I used it every night cleansing balm as a double-cleansing product and not really as a makeup remover (unless I am wearing makeup…)⁣ ⁣ But, it is still a decent product! If you ever see it and have always wanted to give them a try, don’t hesitate to pick one up if you’re able to.
