Pros: You’re thinking, is this sunscreen actually worth the hype? ABSOLUTELY. This is my #1 favorite sunscreen of all time. I’ve tried Isntree’s Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel, Kiss Me Mommy UV Aqua Milk, Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel UV Clear version, and the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun. Out of all those sunscreens, I’m happy to say the skin1004 sun serum is my favorite. I’ve already finished a bottle and I’m on my second, bought two more during a black friday deal on Stylevana.
-I love the texture, lightweight that makes it easy to blend in and comfortable to wear (BOJ sun relief took forever to blend in)
-extremely minimal white cast after first being put on, goes away after a couple of minutes and your skintone ends up looking more even and brightened
-I have an oily combination skintype so I worry about sunscreens making me look super shiny like a disco ball, but this one gives me a natural glowing finish that isn’t super shiny like isntree does. With the isntree hyaluronic acid sun gel, I was so shiny ppl told me I looked like I was sweating or greasy. For this one, photos dont do me enough justice, IRL I look like I have a healthy glow and I get so many compliments from my mom about how smooth and healthy my skin looks.
-no strong scents, just a faint medicinal scent
-and most importantly I experienced no eye irritation with this sunscreen! Every other sunscreen I’ve tried made my eyes water so this is truly the perfect sunscreen for me.
Cons: I’m not a big fan of the pump applicator and would much prefer if it came in a twist off or snap off cap with a long narrow nozzle to squeeze product out of, similar to how isntree’s sun gel cap looks like. When I start to run out, I can’t squeeze the remaining product out, I have to cut the bottle to get the product still in there. Not a huge problem though because I noticed the product leftover in the bottle when the pump doesn’t squeeze it out anymore is about enough for one more (slightly extra) face and neck application.
I also experienced a little bit of pilling sometimes, but this is very minimal and doesn’t happen often, typically around the edges of my face like my jaw. Nothing a good swipe to the face can’t fix.
Overall, highly recommend this sunscreen, it’s truly a gem.

After going through 4 bottles of this product, I’d have to say I’m changing my mind and I think there’s truly no cons to this sunscreen. I thought the pump applicator was being a hinderence to how much product would come out but to be honest I think with any product, unless it comes in a jar, needs to be cut open in order to get all of it out. When the tube is nearly empty (no more product comes out of the pump), thats the sign to cut this open and theres enough product in there for one more face and neck application.
It bugs me whenever I have to cut open a product to get out a lot of the remaining product but since this applicator does such a good job of getting 95% of it out, I’ve ended up really liking it. Also, you’ll only experience pilling if you mess with it before it’s done drying.
I still wear masks, so if I put on a mask 30 min after I’ve put this on, there will be no pilling. If I put on a mask 10 min after I’ve put this on, there WILL be pilling. But even then it’s minimal most of the time. If you’re a mask-wearer, just be sure to wait 20-30 min after putting on this sunscreen.
