I recently tried the Hada Labo Tokyo Anti-Aging Facial Sheet Mask, which comes in a beautiful white and red packaging with cherry blossom design, evoking the beauty of Japan. The mask is well-saturated with 20ml of serum and is easy to apply and adhere to the face. The instructions recommend leaving it on for 15 minutes and using it 1-3 times a week. The sheet mask is infused with three types of hyaluronic acid, collagen, and retinol.
Hyaluronic acid: Hyaluronic acid makes your skin hydrated and plump by attracting and keeping moisture. It also smoothens wrinkles, making your skin look younger.
Collagen: Collagen is a protein that gives your skin structure and elasticity. It makes your skin firm and reduces wrinkles. By boosting collagen production, it helps your skin rejuvenate naturally.
Retinol: Retinol, derived from vitamin A, fights aging in skincare. It boosts collagen, improves skin texture, and reduces wrinkles. It also helps in renewing skin cells, giving you a fresh and youthful appearance.
However, I have to say that my experience with this mask was not positive. Within seconds of applying it, I felt a strong burning sensation, which I thought would subside after a few minutes, but it didn't. It was not a pleasant feeling, and it was actually a bit painful. I decided to remove the mask and had to wash my face with my cleanser to get rid of the burning sensation. Unfortunately, I couldn't assess its moisturizing or any other effects on my skin as I couldn't keep it on for the recommended duration. I'm quite disappointed, and I wouldn't purchase it again. Perhaps the combination of active ingredients is responsible for the discomfort, but I'm not entirely convinced. This product definitely didn't meet my expectations.
