During the years I used serums, I've only used those with either Niacinamide, Hyaluronic or Peptide, but never one with Bakuchiol in it. One of my most favourite product from Tiam is the AC spot cream and Vita B3 Source Serum. These two are literally my life saviours and have rescued me from countless skin problems such as acne, breakouts, pustules and acne marks. What is it that makes their products so amazing?? Before I used any of Tiam products, I used other brands and the results were often slow to achieve but with Tiam, everything was achieved; just as promised by the brand itself.
Since two of their products lived up to my expectations, the Tiam Vita A Bakuchiol Youth Serum shouldn't be a failure, right?
Before i get into my review, I want to talk about why are we seeing Bakuchiol recently in many skincare products?
Well, Bakuchiol is a vegan skincare ingredient found in the leaves and seeds of the Psoralea corylifolia plant. (Good news for all vegan skincare lovers!)
It is a potent antioxidant, visibly reduces skin discolourations from environmental exposure, and has a pronounced soothing effect on skin. Bakuchiol also helps to address again skin issues such as reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, which is why we're seeing it in more skincare products.
How does Bakuchiol work?
It has soothing properties which help to comfort skin and minimise issues associated with sensitivity and reactivity. It fights signs of ageing, such as fine lines and loss of firmness by targeting free radicals. Antioxidants also help to protect the skin from pollution and environmental stressors which can cause damage.
We may have seen Bakuchiol acne skincare products recently on social media and in the news. The reason is because the soothing and calming properties of Bakuchiol could help those with acne-prone skin in addition to skin that is beginning to show signs of ageing.
When paired with retinol, Bakuchiol can help stabilise it and keep it effective for longer. Another benefit of using products that contain both Bakuchiol and retinol is that Bakuchiol’s calming ability may enable skin to tolerate retinol in higher amounts.
Wow, it's no wonder why Bakuchiol is akin to an elixir pill that helps to reduce signs of anti-aging and works to soothe inflammed and acne-prone skin too. This Tiam Vita A Bakuchiol Youth Serum sounds right up my alley!
💧About Tiam Vita A Bakuchiol Youth Serum:
A multi-tasking anti-aging serum with advanced formula for smoothing, firming, and increasing youthful radiance.
This serum aims to make wrinkles take a back seat to smooth skin and address different signs of aging, including loss of skin elasticity, age spots, dryness, dullness, rough skin texture, and uneven skin tone.
In addition to that, it also works as a radiant youthful glow booster to promote collagen and elastin production from within to firm and plump up skin over time, revealing the skin's inner youthful radiance.
Moreover, it is gentle and effective enough for sensitive skin types.
Formulated with the gentlest form of vitamin A and Bakuchiol, this serum is great for those who have sensitive skin or who have experienced side effects from retinol such as irritation, redness, flaking, and dryness. Yayyy!!!! Now, Tiam Vita A Bakuchiol Youth Serum is everyone's favourite!
Lastly, the serum is free of bad ingredients, fragrance, and other harmful ingredients that have very little benefits for our skin.
💧Key Ingredients:
Retinyl Palmitate👉A derivative of Vitamin A. It helps to speed up the skin cell turnover and improves skin discoloration.
Bakuchiol👉A natural, plant-based alternative to Retinol. It helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles Improves skin tone and texture.
Hydrolyzed Fish Collagen👉Improves the skin elasticity, keeps the skin firm and supple.
💧Texture:
It has a silky, lightweight and cream-coloured texture. It absorbs very nicely into skin and doesn't leave any sticky or greasy residue.
💧Packaging:
The carton is made of recycled cardboard and has a minimalist design. It's not eye-catching, in my opinion, but I do appreciate that the product's description is listed in front for everyone to see it easily. The typography on the box is simple and there's a green coloured illustration of the alphabet "V" printed semi front and semi back. Further information in Korean and English is found around the box and there's a seal on the top with the brand's motto printed on it: Make Me Shine .
I find the motto true in my humble opinion because from my personal experience, their products do improve my skin's condition. They make my skin shine with confidence!
Opening it up, the serum is housed in a sturdy, plastic bottle that has a white rubber dropper. The dropper isn't tight, so it's easy to decide how much serum I want to take.
The design of the bottle is similar to its carton packaging and black typography is around the bottle. To be honest, I sometimes feel like this packaging, both its box and the bottle, could be a little more fancier or eye-catching? Because whenever I look at this bottle, it gives me a feeling of boredom as there is nothing vibrant or fancy adorned on either of them. Anyway, this serum is really travel-sized friendly and I find this perfect to bring along on my vacations or trips.
💧Scent:
Scentless.
💧Who is Tiam Vita A Bakuchiol Youth Serum for?
Anyone with aging and sensitive skin.
(¯`·._.·Personal Experiences·._.·´¯)
As the serum clearly states in its name: Bakuchiol Youth Serum, this serum is targeted at those with aging skin but acne-prone and sensitive skin types can also benefit from this.
This serum aims to reduce fine lines & wrinkles, loss of firmness & elasticity, discoloration & dullness and provides benefits such as giving one a supple, firm and even skin tone & texture. Because it has Bakuchiol and other ingredients that aim to provide all these benefits and address certain skin concerns, it's no doubt that this serum is like an elixir pill for anti aging.
After I received this lovely serum, I used it in my A.M and P.M routine. I loved how it made my skin look radiant, hydrated and fresh after each application. Furthermore, it spreaded across my skin very nicely too and didn't leave any sticky or greasy finish.
To see if the serum lived up to its claims, I tried it against my imperfections 😂
First off, I have a few acne marks on my right cheek that were very obvious. After using the Tiam Vita A Bakuchiol Youth Serum, I noticed the marks have become visibily faint. Second, my skin is often dull but whenever I used the serum, my skin looked radiant and dewy which is a Yay for me. And as to whether the serum reduces wrinkles and aging signs, I cannot state my experience on this as I don't have fine lines, wrinkles, etc. In conclusion, this serum lived up to its claims, no hype!
All in all, this serum is a winner in everything! Indeed, the use of Bakuchiol in serums and other skincare products do play a role in addressing certain skin concerns. As a first time user of Bakuchiol, I can personally say that the Tiam Vita A Bakuchiol Youth Serum didn't fail me at all. With regular and prolonged use, I do believe that my acne marks will finally face off, just how the Tiam Vita B3 Source Serum did with my acne marks. I'm giving the Tiam Vita A Bakuchiol Youth Serum a 5/5 stars for being a winner in performance, effiency and ingredients.
