Soothing Relief Gel

product review positives
SRP: US $29.00 Size: 80 mL/ 2.71 oz Period After Opening: 12 months The CureCode Soothing Gel uses patented technology called Neuromide (“new ceramide” because its structure is similar to ceramide). Studies show that it’s great for skin barrier health and repair. It also helps with inflammation and itching. The gel contains antioxidant, anti-aging, brightening, soothing, hydrating, moisturizing, and anti-bacterial ingredients. It does not contain alcohol, fragrance nor essential oils. This comes in an opaque plastic tube with a twist open cap. It’s easy to squeeze out the product from the tube, actually too easy so I sometimes get too much which isn’t a bad thing because this doesn’t get heavy even when using large quantities. The moisturizer has a lightweight gel-cream texture and no discernible scent. It spreads smoothly so a small amount can be enough for the whole face but I prefer a more generous amount. It instantly cools, refreshes, and soothes skin. The gel forms a lipid layer over skin to help protect it from damage and prevent transepidermal water loss (dehydration). One would think the gel isn’t getting absorbed because of the film it forms but my skin feels moisturized all day long so it helps with hydration and moisture. There is no sticky, oily, nor greasy residue. The gel forms a film over skin and makes it look kind of reflective like glass. It’s not in any way sticky, just glowy/dewy but not in an oily kind of way. I think it’s the glass look everyone is talking about. It’s good on photos and videos but I prefer a natural matte look. Applying azelaic acid or inorganic (physical) sunscreen over it will diminish that glass-like effect. I’m happy I took the chance and bought products from this new and basically unknown brand. This is the first moisturizer that didn’t get greasy on me. I will be repurchasing.
product review negatives
Not bad per se, just user specific: This gel moisturizer gives a glowy look but I much rather prefer a natural matte look. And I’m going through this 80mL tube really fast! Just a month and a half and I’m close to emptying it. Do note that I use this twice a day and sometimes on my neck and chest too.
