This product has a slightly thicker consistency than your usual serums, a bit more gel-like. But it absorbs into the skin just as easily as any other serum. It doesn't leave behind any oily or greasy residue; I can't say it gives you any sheen, either. It does layer well under other skincare products, which is suitable if you want to use it with a moisturizer or an occlusive.
The star ingredient, vitamin C, has gently brightened my complexion. Over time, I've noticed a gradual reduction in freckles and hyperpigmentation. My skin looks more even-toned, less blotchy. I also appreciate the addition of gold kiwi extract, which provides an extra boost of antioxidants.
There is a scent to this serum, and it will surprise you to know it's not citrus. I find it oddly reminiscent of the smell of Dawn dish soap. It's not super offensive, and it doesn't linger on the skin after application, but keep this in mind if you are sensitive to certain scents.
