I have the Tangle Teezer brush with a shield to help protect the bristles from getting damaged if you put it in a suitcase or purse. This is very effective for removing tangles and massaging the scalp. I do not brush my hair with it but keep it for tangle emergencies mostly because I prefer the convenience and comfort of a handle brush. But it does do exactly what it's meant for and gets tangles out of your hair.
