It is very gentle. If you are new to retinoids or have sensitive skin, i think it might be a very good starting point. Also, if you have dry skin, the addition of oil will make it less drying 🥰 and because it is squalane, it’s a very universal oil, so it will work on every type of skin, even oily 😉 it is great if you want to put retinoid as the last step of your routine, because the oil is a really good closing step, providing the last occlusive layer on top of a moisturizer.
Unfortunately, it does not provide the results that i am used to seeing from actual retinol. Even comparing to a low percentage retinol serums (0.2%-0.3%), the performance of this product is minimal, if any. I thought about it more as a maintenance step, not really a treatment, since my skin has been cleared up for a while, but it unfortunately didn’t serve the purpose and i had to go back to pure retinol.
Retinols usually have short PAO, so i don’t think it’s necessarily a minus, but it’s worth noting that the Period After Opening is only 3 months.
