The smell is arguably one of the best attributes of this product - it immediately makes me feel like I’m using an expensive serum and not something that retails for under $12. While the scent is fantastic, I only notice it at application and for a little bit after - it’s completely gone in under an hour, so it doesn’t interfere with my perfumes / doesn’t draw much attention.
The texture is slippery / glidey (not a word? Well, it’s a word now…), but not greasy or sticky. It’s a joy to put in the hair. I do 1-3 pumps (depending on how much comes out) and apply it from the ear level down to the ends, then comb through with a wide tooth comb before blow drying. My hair is about shoulder length at the moment.
This is wonderful and I would be willing to pay more than the current price for this. In fact, I already have another version (watery) in my cart.
I didn’t expect any damage repair from the Mise en scene serum - to me it’s all about prevention. I notice fewer snapped strands in my hairbrush, and my hair looks shinier and better overall. Despite some recommendations, I do comb my hair when wet (otherwise it’s impossible to brush out when dry), and I get significantly less snagging and resistance when I use the serum vs when I don’t.
Most importantly, the serum doesn’t weigh down my fine hair and doesn't make it look greasy.
I’m very happy with mise en scene and will probably be a lifelong customer. It’s a great serum with a rightfully earned fan base.
