This moisturiser with SPF is another example of a simple but effective option offered by Neutrogena. It is affordable, lightweight and cohesive enough for use on oily skin.
What I like about this product is that it applies smooth (without noticeable silicone), there is no pilling when layering, cool to touch (as with most of the Hydro Boost range), is hydrating and gives a nice dewy and brightening appearance if worn without makeup.
It’s not a high SPF but i think sufficient for winter and indoors and I switch to an SPF 50 in Spring/Summer. After all they do say the best SPF is one you will use, and I reach easily for this product as it is non-fuss.
The reason for 3* is because if you’re using the appropriate amount of sunscreen as required, absorption isn’t as quick as I’d like.
This product is neutral smelling (in my opinion) but my stepdaughter (5) always asks if I am wearing something scented on my face so she can also spot that! There is also colouring but it isn’t OTT, but I could aee why some people’s skin would not agree with this.
As a chemical sunscreen it has not made me noticeably sensitive that I’m aware of (my skin goes red if I just look at it - damn Rosacea lmao) and never prolonged any flushing. However this may not perform the same for you.
Also I know in the US they have a SPF50 offering and I’m unsure why this isn’t available in the UK so that is unfortunate.
Just in general Neutrogena is not a high achiever and although good, compared to what is on the market these days I can’t give any more *
