Perfect Original Hair Serum

product review positives
Rating: 3.5/5 Packaging: See through plastic bottle with a white pump Color/Fragrance/Texture: This has a pretty thick oil texture which I was not expecting, but it spreads and absorbs very easily. It has a very slight yellowish hue and a floral smell. Reminds me of jasmine. Usage: Apply a generous amount to damp hair. Can also be used on the ends once hair is completely dry. Claims: Repairs, strengthens and revives damaged, dry and weak hair. Adds shine, makes hair soft, and minimizes flyaways. My Hair Type: Dry, prone to breakage, wavy-curly hair (2c/3a hair type) My Experience: When I read about this serum I was expecting it to be very light in texture, like the consistency of almond oil maybe because it is a very popular product in South Korea and they typically have straight, fine hair from what I hear. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that it had a much thicker consistency, kind of like castor oil. Pleasantly because I have very dry hair that is hard to manage and gets pretty frizzy. So heavier products can help control that. Don’t let the heavy texture fool you though. This oil spreads very easily and absorbs right away. It does not feel heavy on the hair at all. Although, I would recommend starting with a smaller amount of serum if you have thin, fine hair that is easily weighed down. Now, did it live up to its claims? My hair definitely felt a lot softer to touch. However, it did not do much to manage the frizz unfortunately. I usually go in with an oil (currently using almond oil) at the end of my hair care routine on the days that I don’t feel like doing a full curly hair routine after washing it. The oil helps a lot in keeping my hair manageable. I replaced my almond oil with this serum for a couple of washes and saw that while it did make my hair soft, it was a lot less manageable and became frizzier than usual. So unfortunately, I can’t use it to tackle that concern. I did like using it between my leave in conditioner and oiling steps. It makes the hair smell really good until the next wash and keeps it soft, while the oil makes it more manageable. Overall, this is a great option for managing frizz for those with thinner hair, but if you have dry hair that is on the thicker side, you will probably need to add something on to this. Its a great option for making your hair smell good, specially since you can use it on dry hair as well without it weighing hair down.
product review negatives
Nothing that is bad. Like I mentioned, just not the right product for my hair type. I need something a lot more nourishing to keep my dry, wavy/curly, frizzy hair managed. Besides that, some people might not like the fragrance. It doesn't linger but some people are more sensitive to fragrances than others and may find it to be too strong.
