When I received this La Roche-Posay Glycolic B5 serum, that's the time when my skin barrier was broken due to misuse of other product that is not suitable for my skin type. So I try to do the patch test for a week telling myself that if it's effective, then I'll start using it for my hyperpigmentation. After a week, there was no negative result happened and that's the only time I began applying it on my face.
It has cooling effect, there's a stinging feels a bit but tolerable, so I only leave it for like 10-15minutes then washed my face with cold water. It's easy to use, a small drop can cover the whole facial area. Though it says unscented, I still didn't appreciate the chemical scent of it.
Using it twice a week works better to my skin for now. When slightly itch, I stop using then continue the next day because the response might be an indication that it can potentially harm my skin. It might also be a sign that this may be disrupting my skin barrier again. I'd rather wait and not to rush its effect on me only because I want my hyperpigmentation to disappear. It does not seem to be doing anything thus far anyways. I also have to be very careful with some of the skincare product that has AHA ingredients on it, this LRP serum has it and it's not suitable for my dry skin yet. I will keep trying to see if I get any results after some more time.
