Elta MD is a brand I truly trust when it comes to their SPFs. My skin has done a 180 and no longer tolerates chemical SPF around the eye area. I decided to revisit this version of their SPF since its made for sensitive and post procedural skin, which is basically the quality of my skin barrier right now. It comes in a larger size and I wanted to play around with the tint and texture, even though this was way out of my price range for me.
The texture of this SPF is very mousse like and whipped, like a thicker creame. When applied it leaves behind a semi-matte finish on my oily skin which was pretty shocking since my typical chemical SPFs leave me greasy looking. The tint is a little dark. I have a pale skin tone with yellow undertones and this SPF leans more on the peachy side. I dont mind too much though since I bring it down my neck and its not noticible. Also the best part of this SPF- no burning eyes!
1. Pricey! I ordered off of DermStore and all things included, ended up paying $43 to get this shipped to me.
2. Can be a little heavy reapplying a tinted SPF multiple times a day, so I only use this when I know Im going outside for less than 2 hours and straight home.
3. Ive been using Adapalene for my acne and moisturizing like crazy, regardless my skin is still peeling. This SPF emphasizes EVERY dry spot, especially around my temples. It doesnt look the best on a broken skin barrier but I still enjoy wearing it for short periods of time.
