Short answer: This has been an effective addition to my acne treating routine! It works! But don’t overuse it and be careful combining with other active products!
Experience: The first time I used the cleanser my skin felt too tight. I had used a little too much for too long. The next two days I had an immediate breakout of small whiteheads which quickly cleared up. Now 2 weeks of use and my skin is finally -clear- I mean I wakeup some mornings with one pimple but this is nothing compared to my acne struggles as of the past year. I think in a few weeks I expect to see more improvement, and will update then.
My routine : I have hormonal caused whiteheads that pop up on my chin and jawline. I treat the acne with hormonal contraceptives, adapalene 0.1%, and finally this cleanser. I incorporated it into my routine after my skin was well adjusted to adapalene, like 6 months in. Besides adapalene and this cleanser, I use basic non comodogenic soothing moisturizers and aquaphor at night when my skin is irritated.
Based on my personal experience and routine, but not any real medical knowledge of course, this is a great product. If you are using a topical retinoid and need an extra boost of whitehead control, this would be a “gentler” (gentler than a serum&spot treatment) way to incorporate that into your routine. It could also be great for those who have mild acne problems but not enough to use a retinoid, they might consider using this once or twice a day.
