I received this product for free from Meditherapy and Picky
I’ve been using the Meditherapy Retinal Skin Booster Serum for about two weeks now, and I have a lot to say about this product—both the good and the not-so-good. If you’re considering adding this to your skincare routine, here’s everything you need to know, including what surprised me.
This serum is marketed as an anti-aging, skin-rejuvenating treatment that helps with:
Reducing fine lines and wrinkles
Strengthening the skin barrier
Improving skin texture and hydration
Brightening dull skin
It contains retinal liposome, which is supposedly a gentler but effective form of retinol, combined with Cica Biome and centella-derived probiotics for soothing and barrier support.
Feel & Texture: It’s a lightweight, gel-like serum with a slightly creamy consistency. It spreads smoothly on the skin and absorbs fairly quickly without leaving a greasy or sticky feeling.
Smell: Fragrance-free! This is great for sensitive skin or those who dislike strong skincare scents.
Absorption: It sinks in well, though it leaves a slight dewy finish, which I personally enjoy at night. If you have very oily skin, you might find this a little too hydrating.
If you’re new to retinal or have sensitive skin, Meditherapy is a solid choice because it doesn’t cause dryness or irritation. However, if you’re looking for faster, stronger results, you may want to try something more potent, like Medik8 or The Ordinary’s 1% retinol.
What Surprised Me?
Zero irritation! Most retinoid products cause at least some flakiness, but this one didn’t—even after daily use.
It’s more hydrating than expected. Some retinal serums dry out my skin, but this actually made it feel softer and more nourished.
It worked gradually but effectively—if you’re patient, the results are there.
Things You Wouldn’t Know Until You Buy It
The packaging is nice but not airtight—make sure to store it properly so the retinal stays potent.
Since it’s gentle, you can use it every night without cycling with other actives.
It plays well with other skincare ingredients—I used it with niacinamide and hyaluronic acid without any issues.
Would I Buy It Again?
Yes, but… I would recommend it mainly for:
Beginners who are new to retinoids
People with sensitive skin who want an effective but gentle option
Those looking for a hydrating retinal serum
If you’re looking for a strong, fast-acting retinal product, this may not be your best choice. However, if you want a gentle yet effective serum that works over time without irritation, it’s a great addition to your routine.

What I Didn’t Like
Slower results. If you want fast wrinkle reduction, you might be disappointed. It takes consistent use for about 6-8 weeks to see a difference.
Might not be strong enough for advanced users. If you’ve used strong retinoids before, this might feel too mild.
Can feel a bit too moisturizing for oily skin types—might not be the best pick if you prefer a matte finish.
