I’m still not an avid mask user, but I can appreciate them when I see real benefits. These Retinol Intense Daily Masks contain both retinol and retinal, which caught my attention because retinal is the more active form of retinol. This essentially gives your skin a double dose of retinoids.

🪻 The ingredient that stood out to me the most—despite not being a main active—is pineapple fruit extract. It contains bromelain and fruit acids with mild exfoliating properties, while its natural sugars provide moisture and soothing effects. This means it works below the surface to retexturize the skin.
🪻 The main actives—bakuchiol, retinol, and retinal—are all amazing for preventing aging and repairing skin at a molecular level. I find it interesting that both retinol and retinal are used since retinal is the direct active form that converts immediately, while retinol requires a two-step conversion. Even after removing the mask, the residual retinol continues working, which I think is pretty cool.
🪻 These masks are very soothing and didn’t cause any breakouts. There are so many calming ingredients in the formulation that contribute to their hypoallergenic and gentle feel.
🪻I have two disappointments: First, this contains fragrance and hydroxycitronellal, though both are listed near the bottom, indicating their concentrations are minimal. If you have fragrance sensitivities, I still recommend doing a patch test just to be safe. The second con for me was the packaging. Even though seal stickers were provided to secure the sides and prevent the lid from moving too much, it still shifted a bit more than I would have liked and didn’t feel secure.
