First impressions ⭐️Packaging-The product was well packaged within its box to avoid damage during transit. The bottle is made from tinted glass to protect the contents from sunlight, it comes with a screw top and separate dropper which also screws on tightly. The clean design of the box and bottle label strongly portrays the brand, By Wishtrend style themselves as Cosmeceutical- a cross between cosmetics and pharmaceutical. ⭐️Scent- The scent is an odd earthy metallic smell which is from the addition of Ferulic acid. At first it does seem strong but fades quickly. ⭐️Texture & consistency- The serum is clear with a smooth ever so slightly oily texture and thin water like consistency which spreads easily ⭐️Absorption- Absorbs fairly quickly into the the skin with a slight tacky feel. Plays well with products layered on top. ⭐️ingredients and formulation- The base of this formulation is Sea Buckthorn water (43%) which is a smart choice as it’s shown to have a soothing effect to the skin and is a natural antioxidant (fun fact; Sea Buckthorn berries contain 12 times more vitamin C the oranges). Obviously the next notable ingredients are L-Ascorbic acid (15%) and Ferulic acid (0.5%). L- Ascobic acid (L-AA) is a pure form of Vitamin C which promises to increase collagen production, fade hyperpigmentation, brighten your complection, boost uv protection when used with sunscreen and help smooth out fine lines. Ferulic acid in itself is an antioxidant and free radical scavenger but when conbined together it works in perfect harmony with L-AA improving its stability (which is known to be a problem), photo protection and generally increases its effects. Other ingredients are niacinamide which brightens skin and helps to minimise the appearance of pores, Vitamin E a soothing anti oxidant and Vitamin C derivatives (sodium ascorbyl phosphat, Ethy Ascorbic Ether) the later can be helpful combatting acne. It’s well thought out and I feel hopeful this product will give me the results I hope for! ⭐️I followed all instructions on the box-patch testing, using SPF (which I use everyday anyway) and the recommended 4/5 drops. Also to store in a cool place away from direct sunlight. I have dry skin which is on the sensitive side, rosacea and generally tired dull skin that comes with getting nearer the big 4-0 (shhh don’t tell anyone!) This will be my first time using a pure vitamin C product. ⭐️I’m insanely impressed after two weeks of daily use. Absolutely no stinging/tingling or warm feeling. Having sensitive skin I was expecting some form of discomfort until my skin adapted to using pure Vitamin C so I was really surprised how gentle it was. On day 5 I experienced a small about of purging on my cheak which was not longer noticeable after 2 days. I took this as a good sign and the serum was working it’s magic increasing cell turn over. ⭐️Magic is real! Just look at the photos, the difference in 2 weeks! My skin has better texture, more even tone, reduced redness and just looks healthy. As long as this doesn’t oxidise quickly (oxidation turns the serum yellow and reduces the effects) I can see myself repurchasing this over and over again. I will post again in a few weeks to update about any oxidisation! ⭐️I definitely recommend trying this product if you are new to pure vitamin C, have sensitive skin or are already using a vitamin C products but are looking for a more complete formula.
