The color of Essence Extreme Shine in Sweet Dreams 102 is a beautiful, transparent pink. I absolutely love it, and I already have a refill for when I run out because it finishes really fast. It has the Extreme Pump feature, and I feel a slight tingling sensation on my lips, which I actually enjoy. I like the feeling. It also has a bit of glitter, which makes it super cute. The applicator is perfect, and overall, it’s one of my favorite glosses. I’m addicted to glosses, and I have about 40 glosses from Essence. This one is definitely a standout for me. The packaging is also very cute, and even though it’s not drastically different, it’s still lovely.
What I don’t like is that Essence doesn’t have cardboard packaging, and they really should. The packaging has way too much tape, making it difficult to open. I often can’t even find the edge of the tape. After opening, the packaging gets all sticky, and there are too many stickers—one with the name, one in English, one with a barcode, and a QR code. All of these should be placed on the box instead of directly on the product itself. The Extreme Pump sticker should also be on the box. After opening the gloss, it’s covered in glue and tape, which I find really annoying. The only glosses from Essence that don’t come with a bunch of tape are from the What The Fake collection, which come in boxes. I understand the need for tape for protection, but I would prefer if they sealed the box with tape rather than covering the product itself in sticky tape. It makes the glosses all sticky, and eventually, the tape marks become dirty and stained with black spots. It’s not a pleasant experience.
