This is the exact same formula as the Altruist SPF 50 (not the face fluid, the regular SPF 50). This has been confirmed with both Grüum and Altruist. And the bottle does include the name "altruist", so fair enough. But it's something that's good to know.
This is a very affordable, water resistant, reliable sunscreen. The filters in it are excellent. It's also moisturizing to the skin, so I don't need to use a separate moisturizer under it. It doesn't leave a white cast on me (light skintone).
If I use it around my eyes, it tends to sting. I suspect that it's probably due to the avobenzone or octocrylene, but I'm not sure.
It has a thick, heavy consistency. It feels greasy and sticky on my skin, and makes my face look quite oily, even though my skin is on the dry side. It takes a little while to work into the skin. I find that it also tends to pill on me, which is very annoying and also a bit concerning. If it pills, is it really forming a proper film?
