This is not the best entry-level product, because it's strong and not every skin can tolerate it.
I normally use it with a cotton pad & gently dap it over my dry face. I normally skip my cheeks since I am prone to rosacea. Glycolic Acid & rosacea are not the best of friends. BHA's & PHA's are better suited for sensitive rosacea skin.
I really love that The Ordinary products are fragrance free & this toner doesn't contain alcohol.
Let's get into the ingredients.
Like it is written on the bottle, it contains 7% Glycolic Acid. Glycolic Acid is an AHA (Alpha-Hydroxy-Acid) & consists of really small molecules that can penetrate deep into the skin. It's great for acne prone skin since it unplugges dead skin cells within our pores. It also helps to even out skin texture, therefore the skin looks smoother, it also can help to get rid of hyperpigmentation. After use, other products will be absorbed better & can be more effective.
Aloe, Urea, Centaurea Cyanide Flower Water & Tasmania Lanceolata Leaf Extract can help with the irritations that acid can cause. Many different Amino Acids are in this product like Aspartic Acid, Alanine, Glycine, Serine, Valine, Isoleucine, Proline, Threonine, Histidine, Phenylephrine, Arginine, all of them generally build collagen & elastin, some also have hydrating & wound healing benefits. Hydrating ingredients like Glycerin, Sucrose, Aloe, Urea Sodium PCA are good to replenish the skin.
Ginseng Root Extract enhances skin nutrition & is a powerful antioxidant.
Make sure to not overdo it & sunscreen is a must. I would recommend to start out with 1-3 times a week. If it burns it is a sign that it is to strong for you, a tingling sensation is ok.
I don't really have nothing bad to say, just be careful. Don't overuse it, it is strong & can be irritated.
It just get 4/5 stars because it is easily to overdo it & because it is so strong.
