Rice Toner

The I’m From toner features rice and is a fan favorite for a reason. I love the fact that it is fragrance free as well. It was an instant boost of hydration, and didn’t leave my skin feeling sticky at all.

Dry/Sensitive

Product gifted for free in exchange for my honest review. I’ve mentioned how much I adore milky formulations like this one, and it didn’t disappoint! I’ve been eyeing this one for a while even though I’m not usually big on toners. But this one was super hydrating and non-sticky, plus theres no added fragrances. If you smell anything at all, it’s from the rice extract since there are no added fragrances. What makes this different is the fact that it’s made up of nearly 78% rice extract, which is part of where it gets its milky color from and what really helps your skin retain its moisture. Not only does it help with hydration, but it also helps calm irritated skin. Another key ingredient towards the top of the list is niacinamide, which can help with an uneven skin tone/post acne hyperpigmentation. If you’re looking to get into Korean skincare and toners, I highly suggest this one!

MadeCera Cream Double Essence Toner

This one has the strongest scents of the toners on my list. But it wasn’t as strong as the mask from the same line luckily. It’s meant to smell like strawberry, but smelled more floral to me. My favorite thing about it is that it features oatmeal which is a great ingredient for people with sensitive and irritated skin. I deal with eczema, and this didn’t irritate it.

Dry/Sensitive

There are so many things that I enjoyed about this product. Now I may get some pushback for this but I’ve often not found the appeal of toners. However hybrids like this one have managed to change my mind. I adore how this has a water like texture. It’s super lightweight and absorbs into your skin super easily without leaving it feeling tacky or sticky at all. It features fantastic ingredients like centella asiatica/cica, ceramide to help with moisture, and oatmeal which helps calm irritated skin. This is definitely something I can see making a permanent staple in my routine. I highly recommend this for anyone who has dry and sensitive skin like me! I also think it’s lightweight enough that people with more oily leaning skin could also enjoy it.

Baby Cheeks All-In-One Hydrating Milk Toner

Versed never uses synthetic fragrances, what you smell is naturally occurring in the formula. This one features coconut water (which is what it smells like to me), and bamboo extract as well as algae extract. The later two also help with post acne hyperpigmentation. So if you’re like me and deal with both acne and dry skin, this is a great option.

Dry/Sensitive

This is fantastic for anyone who deals with dry leaning skin like I do. I found this to be a nice hydrating option. I especially loved this paired with the Stroke of Brilliance Vitamin C serum (also from Versed). The duo was great at helping me see a difference in my post acne hyperpigmentation while not stripping my skin of moisture and being incredibly gentle. It features coconut water for moisture, and algae extract plus bamboo extract. Both of which can help with post acne hyperpigmentation and redness. That’s why the duo worked so well together. This was one of my other first toners that I found my overly sensitive skin could handle. One thing I love about this product is the fact that Versed never adds synthetic fragrances. What you smell in this product (mostly the coconut water in my opinion) is naturally occurring in the formulation. So no added fragrances to bother my overly sensitive nose either. I say definitely give this a shot if you have sensitive skin because I found it to be nice and calming.

Rice Enzyme Protein Toner

Because this toner features enzymes, it is a gentle alternative to acid based exfoliating ingredients. Not only is it a gentle exfoliant, but it’s also super hydrating and a fantastic vitamin c alternative.

Dry/Sensitive

I received this product for free from Picky and FLASKIN in exchange for my honest review. As someone with dry leaning skin, I am a huge fan of milky toners. They tend to be extra moisturizing compared to the more water like formulas. However, that isn’t to say that this wasn’t a lightweight formula. It still had a water like texture in my opinion. If you want a breathable product to add moisture to your routine, I think this is a fantastic option. This is fragrance free which is another automatic win for me since I can have sensitivities to fragranced skincare. I also love the fact that it’s a gentle exfoliating toner thanks to the fruit enzymes in the formula. This is probably the first milky exfoliating toner that I’ve run into, and I love that so much! For those who haven’t heard of enzyme exfoliants before, they are gentler than acids, but work similarly by promoting skin cell turnover by helping get rid of dead skin cells. It also features glycerin, niacinimide, centella asiatica(cica), and my personal favorite: oat. Which is a fantastic ingredient if you deal with eczema on your face like I do. There are so many amazing ingredients that offer solutions for many skin types. This is meant for dry, sensitive, or dull looking skin. I feel like this and the essence combined left my skin looking glowy immediately, and also helped my post acne hyperpigmentation become less noticeable after ONE application (WITHOUT Vitamin C in the formula, so this may be a great alternative for some people). Talk about impressive results! If you couldn’t tell from what I’ve said so far, this toner was gentle enough for my overly sensitive skin to handle. So this was a definite win and will be included in my recommendation lists moving forward.

Ultra-Low Molecular Hyaluronic Acid Toner

This one is a lightweight hydrating option. If you don’t feel like a creamy based toner in warmer months, this is still a great option to keep your skin feeling hydrated without feeling thick or heavy on the skin.

Dry/Sensitive

I received this product for free from Picky and Isntree in exchange for my honest review. If you want a toner that moisturizes while having a lightweight texture comparable to water… this is the product for you! I absolutely adored how lightweight and non sticky this toner is. I’m someone with super dry and sensitive skin, and I had no issues with this formula. I also think because it is non-greasy, this should also work for people with normal and oily skin as well. I think this will be a great option for me in summertime as I need moisture year round, and this absorbed so quickly! I think this will also be a great duo for people living in hotter climates as well. This just like the serum that goes with it - has 14 layers or types of hyaluronic acid in the formula. Before you freak out, HA is a hydrating ingredient that our skin naturally produces and is not an exfoliant like an AHA, BHA, or PHA. In fact the reason it is in so much skincare is because our skin stops producing it as much once we hit our thirties. This was a gentle formula in my opinion, and it was safe for me to use with other actives. Considering it has witch hazel as an ingredient, I couldn’t smell it in the product like I have with a lot of other skincare products that feature the ingredient (if you know what I mean). In fact I didn’t notice fragrance listed on the ingredient list. My nose couldn’t smell anything strong, and that’s saying something since I’m very sensitive to fragranced skincare.

Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing Toner

This one isn’t necessarily as moisturizing as some of the milky ones that I tagged above, but I did find that this helped smooth out the dry skin I can get on my nose. I was pleasantly surprised.

Dry/Sensitive

This product was gifted for free by Acwell and the Picky app in exchange for my honest review. My skin is usually very picky about toners. It also leans on the dry side, so I was very impressed when this toner helped clear up some of the dry skin in one of my problem areas: my nose. My skin felt so smooth after using this toner and the matching serum. And I was very pleased that this toner didn’t leave my skin feeling sticky or like I had to wash it off after use like some others that I’ve tried. So it was a refreshing toner option.

Which product? You may have been applying too much product. I don’t use a ton of toner, esp when it’s hydrating like this since I know I’ll be using a moisturizer later in my routine. I also wet my skin before applying toners to make them feel less sticky as well. But I have a lot of products I dislike as well, so I get it!
