Red patchy cheeks!

Hello everyone! I have a skin concern that won’t go away because I can’t figure out what it is! I have some patchiness of red on my cheeks and sometimes they feel hot! Some days they get really bright red, but normally they look like the picture attached. Sometimes small bumps will appear and they get really itchy! I tried figuring out what it is, but I’m still confused. Some people say it’s rosacea, others say it’s a damaged skin barrier, and some say it’s acne. My skin is very dry so my current routine is La Roche-Posay Hydrating Gentle Cleanser, La Roche-Posay Triple Repiae Moisturizing Cream, and Black Girl Sunscreen! Any recommendations help! <3 (I also have very dark under eyes, but the redness is my main concern right now :))

I can't say exactly what it is, but I suggest you consult a dermatologist to find out. In the meantime, since it seems like your skin is irritated, I suggest you use products that contain centella and panthenol to soothe, calm and moisturize your face.

Hey! I’ve dealt with something similar before red, patchy cheeks that felt hot, itchy, and sometimes had small bumps. It turned out my skin barrier was compromised from over-cleansing and using products that were a bit too harsh for my skin type. From what you described, it could be irritation, mild rosacea, or even an allergic reaction to something in your routine (or even environmental triggers). What helped me was switching to super gentle products fragrance-free, alcohol-free, and no actives for a while. Also, I started using a calming moisturizer with ceramides and kept up with a good sunscreen (you’re already doing great with that!). Try to avoid hot water, exfoliants, and even spicy food or alcohol if you think those might be triggers. But honestly, if it keeps happening or flares up badly, seeing a dermatologist is the best call. They can tell you exactly what’s going on and recommend something more targeted. Hope it clears up soon! ❤️

Hope you'll find the right products to use. If they are eczema, I used cetaphil products for my sons.
