Great question! For oily and sensitive skin, it's essential to layer products from lightest to heaviest to ensure proper absorption and minimize irritation. Here's a recommended routine: Cleanser: Start with a gentle, non-stripping cleanser to remove impurities without disrupting your skin barrier. Hydrating Toner: Apply a lightweight, hydrating toner to replenish moisture and prepare your skin for subsequent products. Serum: Choose a serum with niacinamide (2–5%) to help regulate sebum production and soothe inflammation. Moisturizer: Opt for a lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturizer to lock in hydration without clogging pores. Sunscreen: Finish with a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) to protect your skin from UV damage. Remember, consistency is key! If you have specific concerns or need product recommendations, feel free to ask!

Gentle cleanser > hydrating toner > serum of choice > lightweight moisturizer > sunscreen during the daytime. You can skip moisturizer during the day if you find your sunscreen is moisturizing enough on its own. For oily skin, I recommend a serum with niacinamide as it helps control sebum production. Find one with low strength (2% to 5%) niacinamide since you have sensitive skin. Hydrating toner is a must as lightweight hydration helps balance out oily skin.

Cleanser, Toner, Serum, Moisturiser (lightweight, gel or gel/cream that’s also oil-free), SPF (oil free). For example: I use the La Roche Posay (LRP) Effaclar range for oily/combo + sensitive skin as it’s very gentle but still very effective. In AM I use the Effaclar gel cleanser + Salicylic acid micro-exfoliating toner, followed by the LRP Hyalouronic Acid Serum + Niacinamide or Vit C if I’m using them, Effaclar D+ Moisturiser and finish with their Anthelios Oil Free SPF. My PM routine is similar, except 1-2x a week I include an AHA or Hydrating sleep mask after my moituriser, depending on my skins needs. 1x a week I also switch out the LRP Cleanser and use the HaruHaru Wonder AHA gel cleanser. If I use full face of makeup during the day I double cleanse with the ANUA Heartleaf Pore Cleansing oil followed by my regular gel cleanser. Lastly, I never skip the Hyaluronic Acid serum step of my routine because oily skin can still be dehydrated which leads to excess sebum production. Since incorporating this serum my skin definitely feels more balanced, plump and hydrated.

Hey babe !! Pharmacy student here. If you have oily skin and sensitive skin, I would advise you to look for ingredients that regulate sebum production, anti inflammatory, anti bacterial (oily) and then low pH levels, non stripping, and soothing products (sensitive). I can give you a few recommandations if you’d like !
