I DON’T KNOW HOW TO HANDLE THE SITUATION !

Hey guys, I’ve been doing skincare reviews for about 5+ months now and this never happened to me and I don’t know how to handle the situation. I got a PR collab from a brand for a review, on my page I always make sure to give my followers the informations about the product ingredients, what type of skin can or cannot use them etc so as I was replying to the mail, I clearly told them «  I have to use the products for a week to be sure I’m not proposing some dangerous or harmful products to my followers since there’s overage and underage people following me too» + I made sure for them to know my type of skin so they can send me the right products ( a very important point). I recieved the product but the brand grave me a Script to say how good the product is, how to use it and PRAISE the benefits etc. Since I know some of the engredients on the product I already use them on my daily routine, I thought it was worth the try. I started using the product and it was the worst thing I’ve ever used on my skin, the texture was bad, it smelled really chemical and it was like using some duplicate of another brand. The very first day I used it, my skin started to irritate me but I felt like maybe it was my fault or the product wasn’t just for me, I gently contacted the brand to make sure they sent me the right products and they affirmed it was the right ones, I gave them my trust and used it the next day and it got really worst, so I had to go to see my doctor and literally the problem was the product, it content an ingredient similar to niacinamide but it wasn’t it at all, it was mixte with other things. I respectfully sent a mail back to the brand, told them I cannot make an HONEST review of the product if they are not honest with me, I gave them all the details and my medical record just in case but they insisted on me making a review with the script they gave me. I explained to them I cannot do that because the product may be dangerous if people make it a full daily routine etc and I told them I really don’t want to bad mouth them or ruin their brand, cause I hate making drama or be the center of attention. And now they just blocked me, on social media and I cannot send them more mails. I don’t know if I do a video to explain it to people or I just let it go away. I really don’t know how to handle this situation.

That’s very bad and not professional. They don’t care about their customer at all. Can you please share the products, so we at least won’t fall fir their fake advertisement 😾

Just give your honest review of the product. They already blocked you anyway, so it doesn't matter anymore. You can say whatever you want, more so now that you don't need to adhere to a script 😂 Review the product like you usually do and say in a nice way that the product didn't work for your skin. And if you want, you can also mention that you're disappointed with the brand for being unreasonable and that you're not willing to work with them anymore. But if you don't want unnecessary drama, you could skip that part. It's not worth it to compromise your integrity and honesty just to please a brand. So be honest and just be yourself.
