How often rotate your skincare products?

Hi guys, how often should I rotate my skincare products between different brands to be effective, so my skin does not get used to it? Thanks!

Your skin doesnt get used to products. Its a myth people keep sharing. Dermatologists will confirm the same. I alternate between products because I try to have 1. a hydrating day where I dont use any exfoliating products and focus on hydration - I'm currently using the cosrx propolis toner. And follow that with this product from sana. Its like a light hydrating lotion. Finally I use this moisturizer from beauty bay. 2. and another day where I use exfoliating products. I either use the benton toner and follow with this serum from image which has lactic acid or I use the aha bha peeling solution from the ordinary. I use this solution once a week.

When you are using new skin care products in your routine it might sometimes take 4-6 weeks to see results so I always try to use a new product for around 6 weeks because I know that you not always see immediate results. I always implement one product at a time to see what the effect of that product is. If I start using a lof of new products at the same time I will not know which products is effectie for my skin and it is also better to just implement one product at the time to see if your skin has any reactions to this product.

Thank you! I usually switch it every couple of month, but wasn't sure if it was a right thing to do. But what you said makes sense πŸ™

If your routine is working, then you don’t need to change it. If your skin does get use to actives (ex: retinoids, AHA, BHA), then you may want to try using a higher percentage/ using it more often to reap more benefits. Try to listen to your skin and adjust your routine accordingly. For example, when it is winter time, I will opt for a richer moisturizer than summer time.

I do that for moisturizers as well in winter. My skin gets dry in cold New York 😊. Thanks!

I usually switch if im exfolating. If im breaking out I either add a product or replace one :) like add a spot treatment and replace my glowing serum with a soothing one :)
