Yes as you said about the brands that are not so popular, it's because I don't see them advertised or promoted a lot. And most brands aren't available to purchase locally so we have to purchase through third party.
Mamonde, Laneige and Sulwhasoo I do know after researching for products but like Thank You Farmer, I don't know much about them because their products aren't mentioned a lot in articles or blogs that I read. Its not that they're not good or anything but they don't get much exposure? Thats just my opinion and from what I see of course.
So far I love korean brands cause most of the time they hit the mark. They're products are amazing and worth the hype, also some are well priced. But not all brands are available locally so that contributes to them not known as well.

Yes I agree with your opinion, I didn’t see the popular brands among us in the shops or shelves here in Korea 2/3 years back but now am seeing them here from last year. Also I see that many start ups are targeting only outside of Korea because it is very hard to compete with the big OGs of Korean cosmetics and skincare companies.

Maybe because the products that are known internationally has range products that mostly work to other skin type, so people enjoying and talk about it a lot? But I think there's some strategies and marketing behind them that maybe, already have an aim to enter global market instead of just in Korea 😀

The thing that I am aware of the most now is that many new companies cannot compete the big OGs here in Korea, Amore Pacific is a giant. We can see that some companies have shut down their offline shops as well.

All of the brands you've mentioned are all popular overseas. I've tried all of those 😁

I'm from Indonesia. K-beauty are everywhere in my country, it's really easy to find. Maybe because the demand is high here, so there are many sellers ready to supply

In my opinion, all Korean brands are well-known outside of Korea because it is more likely to expand their marketing network, whereas in Korea, the brands cannot compete with high end brands.

In my case I do know thses brands you're naming, but some of them are too expensive to get here (shipping + taxes + customs) or are hard to ship to South America
