differin/adapalene

right now because of the weather change, i’m experiencing dry skin. i just started using differin to help my breakouts. i put moisturizer on after i washed my face and then waited & put on differin. is it a bad thing to put more moisturizer on top of the differin after it’s been set into my skin? i’m really worried with how dry my skin will get using this + the winter. basically i’m wondering if i can do the sandwich affect or if it will be too much for my skin or make the differin not work as well.

It will still be effective with minimal irritation. That is the most recommended method for starters.
