Retinol “purge”

Anyone notice your skin purging after you began using retinol in your routine? Seems like blackheads are brought up to the surface but my pores are looking better.

Yes the purge is real. Can happen with all retinoids. It's your skin adjusting to the quicker cell turnover

Yeap, I had breakout for about 2 weeks first time using retinol. After that everything got back to normal. Just bare with the purge, I think you’ll be fine.

Very normal and although it may not seem like it, its a good sign! Retinol speeds up cell turnover so everything comes to the surface faster. Hang in there, it's worth it!

Nope, I haven't experienced purging or breakouts while introducing retinol to my skin. By the way I'm using the ordinary retinol 0.5% in squalane. So far I love it. I haven't given other retinol products a try though.
