Hello there
Retinol is awesome for skin but needs a lot of caution while using .
-Not to use with aha /bha : especially while looking for toners try to avoid ones with aha bha or pha . They have acidic pH and inactivate retinol . Not only that but it will lead to over exfoliation since they both do the same job .
-using a solid spf during the day and using retinol only at night . A good physical sunscreen is anyway a must
-no vitamin C . Again it's acidic pH usually inactivates retinol
Retinol tends to be irritating and /or drying especially at first so I would recommend you soothing ingredients to help your skin while retinol does its work .
- Niacinamide
- hyalurinic acid
- centella
- pantothenol
- aloe vera
My experience with Etude House Soon Jung line is good . It's very soothing to the skin which is very much needed while using retinol. I hope it helps š

I would start with a gentle cleanser, a really good moisturizer (since Retinol can be drying) and a super effective sunscreen (since Retinol can make you more sensitive to UV rays)! Here are my personal faves that Iām actually using with my Granactive Retinoid. ā„ļø
