Should we trust korean sunscreen(s)?

Hello guys! Recently we heard shocking news (again) from korean skincare brand that they spf level was not same as they stated on the product. What's y'all thoughts about this? Should we trust korean sunscreens?

We should still trust Korean sunscreens, regardless of what happened. The same situation happens with Western brands - it’s just not as out there in the media and the skincare community. They should be held accountable in the same way as Korean sunscreens are being held accountable. @heyskinjunkie has a highlight on her page - I’ll drop some screenshots here if you want a quick read!

I am amazed how well I can read out the brands here and why aren’t people “cancelling” these brands too. 🤪

I think it is unfair to keep pointing fingers on korean sunscreens ( except for Krave cuz that's another whole issue ) when Western sunscreens also failed to meet their spf claims. For example, Neutrogena , LRP, Anessa and Shiseido all have failed their spf test. It is an issues that occurs as a whole rather than focusing on korean/asian brands. For more info, you can visit the labmuffin blog to know more about spf testing. https://labmuffin.com/purito-sunscreen-and-all-about-spf-testing-with-video/

Yes we should be careful with our spf regardless of where it came from!! I believe Supergoop posts their independent studies on each product if anyone is interested! Their play sunscreen is my favorite and is sold for a great value size of 18oz!! Haven’t found a better sunscreen for better value.

I was unsure about this too since the sunscreen drama that was going on is mainly come from a korean sunscreen, but i think we shouldnt judge all brand that doesnt met the spf! ♡

I’ve seen one about the Cosrx that it’s 38SpF instead of 50spf (stated on the package)!!! It’s just a lot going on at this time, Idk if I can still trusting their sunscreen anymore unless they prove it differently!!! We need to know what we put on our skins and if we’re giving the right protection to our skin.

personally i am gonna have a break from korean sunscreen as it's summer and if unintentionally doesn't meet the spf then it's my skin that gonna suffer. Mayb after they release the new sunscreen (i am waiting for the purito cz it's my favorite) I am gonna explore Korean ones💞
