Has anyone switched from a chemical sunscreen to a mineral one and seen any improvements?

I know that mineral sunscreens are more recommended to those with acne prone skin, but I mostly avoided them because they aren't as cosmetically pleasant. But seeing how my skin is getting so congested (blackheads, closed comedones, pimples) I really start to wonder if it's from the sunscreen since the problem keep remaining the same no matter what I add in my routine.

The only improvement I feel is that mineral sunscreen has some degree of water resistant even though the brand says it’s not water resistant. Other than that mineral sunscreen sometimes itches my face, especially where I have facial hair. Being Asian, I like the tone up effect of zinc oxide but you can try tinted mineral sunscreen to reduce it.

Me! I’ve been using the Biore one for about 3 years and it got me thru the highs and lows of my acne journey. Recently switched to the Cerave SPF 50 and I noticed that my chin & cheek area is not as irritated as it was before. Chin and perioral acne (from wearing masks) also kinda dried up. Didn’t think much about it, at first. Then I used Biore one time, when I removed my mask after a few hours, I noticed the area was kinda red, pores were clogged and new acne was forming. Definitely sticking to mineral sunscreen for now. Planning to buy another type of mineral sunscreen tho coz the white-cast is REAL. Been watching recommendations from youtube skincare specialists and youtube dermatologists.
