Closed comedones what helps REALLY?

So I've been struggling with a very textured skin and large pores since puberty hit me around 7-8 years ago and it never really bothered me that much cuz it was never ever that bad as it is now... So I am really seeking for help πŸ˜“ I've noticed that it got even more visible after I changed my cleanser to the La Roche Posay Effaclar one (I'll tag it down below so that you guys can check it out too), but which got rid of mostly all my pimples tho. That was really a surprise because all cleansers I've had so far broke me out (+ I even tried all the CeraVe cleansers). I'll post the products I use in my routine as well (cleanser, toner, peeling (1x week), serum, eye cream and moisturizer). I have sensible combination skin which is also sensitive to niacinamide so I really hope you guys have some product recommendations or tips how I can reduce the amount of closed comedones and blackheads on my face. (I'll post two pictures of my skin for reference one with flash and one without)

Prescription retinoid will work the best at clearing up closed comedones. But if you start one you’ll need to ditch the TO peel.

hm... I never heard about them, but that's probably because my dermatologist creates the prespription&recipe for the gel/cream herself. like tretinoin was just one ingredient, there was niacinamide as well and some other that I can't recall, but idk if she would prescribed me creams that are already formulated. I definitely should ask her about the alternatives you mentioned πŸ‘ŒπŸ» Thank youuu ^^

For me aklief helped a lot with them but it's a prescription treatment - it's a 4th gen retinoid and it can be really harsh for the skin, I had to change my entire skincare for it but it makes huge difference

thanks for your reply 😊 I've thought about going to the dermatologist again, but tbh it's very expensive to go to the dermatologist when you don't have a private insurance in germany, so I didn't go lately, but I don't feel good in my skin anymore so yeah I probably have to take this step again.. πŸ˜… I really appreciate your answer πŸ’«

For me retinal 0,5% from Geek&Gorgeous has helped me with closed comedones. Also their exfoliant Cheer up. That is just what I have used and I'm still using. You can try with other brands too.
