Prescription retinoid will work the best at clearing up closed comedones. But if you start one youβll need to ditch the TO peel.

hm... I never heard about them, but that's probably because my dermatologist creates the prespription&recipe for the gel/cream herself. like tretinoin was just one ingredient, there was niacinamide as well and some other that I can't recall, but idk if she would prescribed me creams that are already formulated. I definitely should ask her about the alternatives you mentioned ππ» Thank youuu ^^

For me aklief helped a lot with them but it's a prescription treatment - it's a 4th gen retinoid and it can be really harsh for the skin, I had to change my entire skincare for it but it makes huge difference

thanks for your reply π I've thought about going to the dermatologist again, but tbh it's very expensive to go to the dermatologist when you don't have a private insurance in germany, so I didn't go lately, but I don't feel good in my skin anymore so yeah I probably have to take this step again.. π
I really appreciate your answer π«

For me retinal 0,5% from Geek&Gorgeous has helped me with closed comedones. Also their exfoliant Cheer up. That is just what I have used and I'm still using. You can try with other brands too.

I'd try differin. It's an over the counter retinoid spot treatment, and it's relatively affordable as well($17USD/$14β¬).

unfortunately this still has to be prescripted in germany and it's really hard to get here too so I think I have to look at alternatives, but thanks for your reply π«

I had the same problem. But prescription tretinoin solved it
