For a starter retinol I’d recommend these because they are lower percentages and budget friendly. I’ve tried the ordinary one and it was okay for me. it didn’t so much for me and was too oily. it also has a short shelf life. I’ve heard amazing things about the CeraVe and inkey list ones but haven’t tried them myself. I currently use one from Paulas choice that I love, but it is on the pricey side. It’s the 0.3% retinol and it’s non-irritating. Start slow with your retinol. 1x a week for awhile and then gradually increase to 2x a week, etc. Also make sure you are not using it with AHAs, BHAs and anything else that may conflict with it.

this one is pretty gentle and great for beginners as well as being pretty affordable
