I have been using the ordinary 1% retinol for my acne but I built my tolerance with lower concentration first. if you acne is nodular painful I would suggest you to see a dermatologist first so that you can rule out the cause of acne. my acne is due to waxing and face mask nothing hormonal. I hope this helps
