Help with using tretinoin?

I’ve been using Curology for 3 months now and my prescription contains clindamycin 1% tretinoin 0.01% and azelaic acid 4% and it’s really been helping my acne. But I’ve noticed it drys out my skin so bad that it actually makes my wrinkles look worse! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Anyone tried tretinoin or have had a similar experience with retinol since they are very similar? I’ve tried slugging.. hydrating over night masks.. I’ve even tried using it only 2x a week and it still makes my wrinkles look worse becusse it dries my skin. I love it for acne but wondering if it’s worth it?

Maybe you can slowly reduce the usage of your prescription and use moisturiser that target for very dry skin (patch test with your skin first)

Yeah, retinol can be very drying. You should use a moisturizer that contain ceramide and hyaluronic acid.Maybe it will help you and also it good for dry skin and dehydrated.

Well, I have the same content as you. I don’t use it everyday. Even if I use it, I moisturize my skin before and after applying this. And next day, I use highly hydrating products.

hmm maybe you can apply a thinner layer? i know the recommended is a pea size but i use a rice grain size amt and it doesnt dry out my skin. i heard that using a moisturizer with vitamin e helps too! personally tried using the klairs vitamin e mask + moisturiser , before applying my retinoid (adapalene) and my skin wasnt drying!

If it's drying out your skin you could try to use it in between 2 layers of moisturizer or on top of your moisturizer to minimize the risk of dryness, this should not make the product les effective but will deliver the ingredients in a more gentle way💙😊
