Skin Picking - Tips & Tricks to stop it

I know this isn’t a traditional topic on picky but looking for advice on how to stop skin picking I know there’s not an one time try solution for it but any advice I’d appreciate For me personally it’s my scalp and more recently my face (around forehead which is new for me and ears) and I tend to “pick” when I’m stressed I am seeing a doctor and waiting to be scheduled to see a dermatologist but until then just looking for anything so I could maybe help myself a bit so it’s not worse by the time I can see someone

I would recommend holding onto something else to torture when you are stressed out, like a stress relief ball for example 😊 This way you can still "pick" at something without damaging your skin. I hope this helps 🥰

@Elyssa sorry for the late comment but thank you! I got myself one a little bit after you posted this and I’ve found using it along with many other steps to my scalp care has really helped!!! definitely recommend scalp brushes!!!

it’s soooo calming for me even if I get to the point I’m hurting myself, not sure why but my earliest memory of picking is from grade 1 😬

first of all for skin picking make sure you stay one arm's lenght from your mirror, the close you stay the worse (acne, pores) they seems, no one is looking at you this closer. if you struggle with acne you can also apply patches, when i use it i forger my problem. for the scalp i can feel you, i have dry and sensitive scalp and il also curly so it's so diffucult to find somethig that work for me. I see many result from using a scalp brush, but can't gind any product that work. Lot of prople recommend Nizoral but i can't find it in my country. Hope this help💕

that is so true! I’ll sometimes be doing makeup or my skincare on my mirror stand which flips to the close up side and I’ll get caught up in all my skins “flaws and impurities” immediately patches are a good tip! and Ouu what is a scalp brush exactly? I’ve used nizoral and I found it never helped me personally but hopefully you’ll be able to get some and try out yourself to see if it works for you. currently I’m trying a briogeo dry scalp hair treatment pack I got off Sephora and it does help after using! but ty this is very helpful!
