Does your skin purge twice?

So I’m going to switch from tretinoin (0.025%) to azelaic acid but I’m worried that I’ll go through the purging phase twice. Anyone knows if this happens or it’ll be a smooth transition?

This might be different since we use different products and our reaction to them will be different as well. ( no skin are the same )

I purged twice from retinol.
When i first used it and
when i upped from 0.25 to 0.5

I use both rn but I did purge after introducing AA into my already established tret routine.

Smooth transition don’t worry…the tret already sorted what’s hiding underneath so the AA will maintain it
