I guess the main difference would be the texture and probably the percentage of the ingredients in the formula. Toner goes right after cleansing and serum in the treatment step🥰

If I use hyaluronic acid after cleansing/before moisturizer, where would these go into play then? Thank you!

I would agree with Annaya that the main difference is the texture, i would say the toner goas after cleansing and before the Hyaluronic acid and the serum you could put after or before the Hyaluronic acid depending on which is the tickets (thin to thick) or just your personal preference 💙😊

It’s based on preference - a different range of products to be used in a different step of your routine. Some people prefer a lightweight toner whilst others feel the need of a more concentrated serum perhaps, or a thicker consistency.

I think is a matter of preference. And sometimes also about what you already use.
For ex. I always use Vitamin C serum and antioxidants in the morning and at nights I always use peptides.
When I want to use mugwort, green tea or centella or propolis to calm, soothe or brighten skin, I use essences and toners.
Toners and Essences are a great way to add high concentrations of ingredients and hydration in to your skin and still leave space for your other actives in serum form.
Some toners and Essences contain an impressive percentage of the actives.

It depends on u and how u feel that day. If u want something more lightweight go with the toner.
