Medicube review!

I received these products for free from Picky and Medicube in exchange for my honest opinion I wanted to love these products. I really did. Just look at that beautiful packaging!!! A thick luscious toner, a strong brightening vitamin C serum, and a rich cream - sounds amazing, right?! But none of these worked for my skin and I had to stop using them Triple collagen toner: First thing I noticed was the viscosity of this toner; I’d never used a toner so thick I didn’t need a cotton round before, but I have to say I really like it! It was so nice not having to waste a cotton round, just getting to pat it into my skin instead: refreshing! The scent definitely can’t be ignored. It’s heavily fragranced, reminds me of nice guest soap - floral, some musk notes. I personally liked the scent (even though it’s a bit overwhelming), but my skin did not. Redness galore! It irritated my skin so much I didn’t get to try it long enough to see any positive results from it. Seeing the long list of ingredients then made me unsurprised that it didn’t agree with my skin. Vitamin C Ampoules: The care and thought that went into having three smaller bottles to protect against oxidization made me really hopeful about this product — then I opened the bottle. This creamy golden ampoule smells like hotdogs and fish sauce combined. This weirdly meaty scent worried me a bit, maybe it went bad? But I used it anyways just to have it irritate my skin even more. Even trying it after my usual toner, I could feel the formula drying and irritating my skin. Normally vitamin C serums don’t bother my skin like this, but the smell and irritation combo made this unusable. It might hold amazing brightening properties, but I can’t use it enough to find out Triple repair cream: I love the packaging of this cream, and the floral scent matches the aesthetic. The cream is rich, and it’s clear it has silicone in it - it leaves a noticeable film on the skin. I hoped that would mean that it would soothe and help the irritation from the previous products, but the fragrance and lengthy ingredients list just contributed to the irritation and redness. On days I tried it with my usual routine, it was still enough to irritate my skin all on its own Overall, I think this routine really damaged my moisture barrier. I couldn’t use any of the products consistently, despite all the gentle/hydrating products I’d pair them with. I was so excited for these beautiful products, but there are just too many ingredients and too harsh of fragrances for sensitive skin. If your skin is hardy, you like silicone in your moisturizer, and you have aging skin, these products might be perfect for you! They just aren’t usable by me. Such a bummer!

I really appreciate your honest review. Skincare is very personal. Even for the best of the products, it can’t suit everyone. Saying that, I was checking out ingredient list of this cream yesterday and it has 99 ingredients. I was in a state of shock. About the smell of vitamin C ampoules, I have heard this before. Skinceutical’s famous vitamin C also smells like hot dog water. So, I can understand it. But I don’t think it should be that irritating because it has 13.5% vitamin C

The length of the ingredients list really shocked me too! Definitely too much for my skin Good to know the scent doesn’t mean something was wrong with the batch of ampoules! It was surprised for it to irritate my skin - I’ve tried a few other vitamin C serums without irritation, and even just started using the Neogen one and didn’t have a reaction like I did to the Medicube ampoule. Maybe the brand just isn’t for me

That's so bad! I will try them tonight and am afraid they'll react on me. BTW have you tried using these separetely? I mean on different times? Maybe together they clash 🤔

I did try them separately in case they were too much together, but they all did still irritate my skin individually too (though even more irritation when combined). It’s such a personal thing though so hopefully they’ll work wonders for you skin! Hoping for the best 💕
