Dark Armpits

I've been using the Ordinary Glycolic Toner for body odor and it helps so much! However, I started noticing that my armpits are getting darker. Is there a correlation? Is it the Toner that is causing my armpits to get darker? Also, my armpits sometimes gets super itchy, which causes me to scratch it and it leaves marks.
