tingling almost stinging sensation applying acids

I just applied this and my whole face had a moment of pretty strong tingling but subsided after it absorbed. I hadn’t had much of a problem before today, only some tingling on my cheeks but this time, it was on my whole face…I think I forgot to use it last week, was it because of that? Many products say to discontinue use if you experience these effects. Should I do this? I’ll see if next week is the same 🤔
