🌼 What it is? •Most known BHA (beta hydroxy acid) •Can be found in willow bark •A salicylate-> same ingredient family as aspirin •Oil soluble •Can penetrate deeper into the pores •Highest non medicated product concentration: 2% •Benefits can be seen with 0,5 - 5% •Forms: (Treatment) toners, serum, cleanser, ... 🌼 How does it works? •Softens and dissolves the intracellular cement ("glue between the cells") •Exfoliates deep into our skin by cleaning out clogged sebum 🌼 Functions •Clears and prevent acne •Reduces excess oil •Regulates sebum production •"Blackheads removing" •Minimizes the look of your pores ("Shrink") •Reduces redness & inflammation •Fades pigmentation •Reduces fine lines and wrinkles •Anti inflammatory •Smooth and brightens your skin 🌼 Compatible with: •AHA •Peptides •Azelaic Acid •Ceramides •Hyaluronic Acid •Alpha Arbutin 🌼 Best for: Oily, acne prone skin 🌼 Side effects •Can be drying •Can be irritating for you skin! •Can cause purging •Can cause break outs •Can cause overexfoliating 🌼 How to use it? •ALWAYS PATCH TEST!!! • Introduce it slowly into your routine! • Use it in you PM routine! • Depends on your skin but 2-3 times a week should be fine • Dont use it with Retinol or other actives which are sensitizing to your skin • Apply after cleansing & before moisturizer • Apply it on your dry face • Use it continuously • Please wear SPF the next AM!! 🌼 How long does it takes to work? • 4 - 8 weeks for clearing and preventing further breakouts I know it's been a long time but uni is killing me now :( Anyway what are your experiences with Salicylic Acid?

Great post! I use it as a chemical exfoliant once every two days in my current routine. Ive found controlled oil and sebum production and its transitioned my skin more to “dewy/glowy” than oily. Excellent active.
