Sleeping masks are nice boosters if you feel the need to use them and if you know precisely what you wanna target. Hydration, nourishment, repair, brightening....
I like to use moisturizing Sleeping masks to seal the moisture during the night and wake up with super plump skin.
I like to use brightening sleeping masks when I have dull skin and I want a nice glow in the morning.
I like to use cica/repair masks when I'm extra tired and I also wanna get rid of redness.
As i said, sleeping masks are "boosters". Not necessary at all but useful nonetheless.

It depends. Sometimes sleeping masks are cool, like this ones. I use them as a moisturizer.
If you have nice skincare routine and sometimes you want try smth new - why not?)
Or if you know your problem and these masks can help your skin?)
But don't use it every evening😉
